You need food to make your brain work. These cheap eateries near Houston's schools of higher learning should provide you the fuel you need to earn that degree to pay off your student loans.
For this collection we leaned on local and regional chains that are near Houston's colleges, either within walking distance or a short car ride away.
There are plenty of places to get burgers and chicken nuggets that you already know all too well.
We opted for places that are budget-friendly for college students but are a cut above dollar menus and the like.
Since the University of Houston and Texas Southern University are close to each other we combined those two areas.
Rice and St. Thomas are also close but Rice students have Rice Village so close (they're lucky) that we kept that school's population separate.
We've included options for the area near University of Houston-Downtown, which are also handy for those of us who frequent the area bars.
