A LOOK AT THE LONGHORNS—Texas is in the midst of its first losing streak of the season, after dropping three-straight games on the road at No. 6 Stanford. The Longhorns had a season-long five-game winning streak snapped by the Cardinal. The Texas pitching staff has been dominant at times and has a 2.92 ERA with 156 strikeouts. Last season, Texas won the 2018 Big 12 Conference Championship and returned to the College World Series for the first time since 2014. The Longhorns posted a 42-23 record and 17-7 mark in league play.

DUUUKE—Junior outfielder Duke Ellis is the national leader with 25 walks this season and the Longhorn lead-off man leads the team with a .494 on base percentage. Ellis is also a standout defender in center field, with a number of highlight reel catches and two outfield assists already this season.

MARCH MADNESS—Throughout the month of March the Longhorns are testing themselves against some of the best teams in the country, playing 15 games against nationally ranked teams. All 12 of the underclassmen pitchers have already appeared in a game this season. Five of the seven pitchers to have started a game for Texas this season are underclassmen. The young pitching staff has had ups and downs, and leads the Big 12 with 156 strikeouts but also has the most wild pitches with 28.
