Jamell Blue hadn't played outfield since his junior year in high school.
No one would have guessed it in the ninth inning Saturday night.

Blue, a left-handed pitcher from Texas Southern, moved to left field in the ninth inning for the Hannibal Cavemen after pitching a scoreless inning of relief against the Quincy Gems. Immediately, he was put to the test as the Gems' Nick Roscetti ripped a shot that Blue was able to track down.

It kept Quincy from mounting a rally as Hannibal won 5-4 at QU-Stadium and swept a day-night Prospect League doubleheader after winning 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Clemens Field in Hannibal, Mo. The victory also gave Hannibal the edge in the "Battle of the Paddle" as the Cavemen won the season series 8-6.
