CONFERENCE NEWS AND NOTES:
- Jackson State’s Bentrell McGee, Alabama State’s Roshaine Byfield and Alexis Ferebee, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Sireta Roach were named Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances in competition during March 17-20. The quartet combined for five victories and three more top-ten placings.

- Bentrell McGee of Jackson State currently holds the eighth-fastest time in the nation when it comes to the men’s 100-meter dash (10.40 seconds) and he is ranked No. 2 in the nation in the 110-meter hurdles (13.73 seconds).

- On the women’s side, Santina Williams of Alabama State ranks No. 16 nationally in the women’s 400-meter dash (54.88 seconds). Williams, Alexis Ferebee, Shantia Wilson and Tatiana Etienne stand as the eighth-ranked 4x400-meter relay team in the nation (3:40.27).

- Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern are set to compete at Rice University’s 34th annual Victor Lopez Classic this weekend. At last year’s event, Prairie View’s Deonca Bookman won the women’s 400-meter hurdles and Texas Southern’s Travis Sanders claimed the win in the men’s high jump.

- Mississippi Valley State is scheduled to be the lone idle member school this week.
