HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers Soccer team has released their 2013 schedule highlighted by seven home games. Five of those seven home contests are slated as non-conference match-ups against one team from the Sunbelt Conference, two teams from the MEAC (Mid Eastern Athletic Conference) and two SWAC East opponents.
The Lady Tigers will begin the season at home versus North Texas (Aug. 23) before making their first road trip of the season to face Sam Houston State in Huntsville (Aug. 25). After facing the Lady Bearkats TSU will be on the road for its next seven games making stops to play McNeese State (Aug. 27), Campbell (Aug. 30), Texas A&M International (Sept. 1), Incarnate Word (Sept. 6), St. Mary's (Sept. 8), and Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 15).
After returning home Texas Southern will open a two-game home stand with back-to-back games versus Howard (Sept. 20.) and South Carolina State (Sept. 22). The Lady Tigers will close out all of the road games on their schedule with a four-game road trip that will wrap up towards the middle part of October.
TSU will travel to Baton Rouge to face Southern (Oct. 4), Jackson State (Oct. 6), Prairie View (Oct. 11), and Houston-Victoria (Oct. 14). The Lady Tigers will conclude regular season play at home for their last four games. Texas Southern will hosts Alcorn State (Oct. 18), Mississippi Valley State (Oct. 20), Grambling State (Oct. 25), and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Oct. 27).
The Lady Tigers last home game versus UAPB will be Senior Day. The 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference Soccer Tournament is set to be held November 7-10 at a site that has yet to be announced. For a complete listing of the Lady Tigers 2013 season please visit the link listed above.
