Texas Southern center Aaric Murray has been recognized nationally for his performance last week. He was named College Sports Madness Player of the week, he snagged the College Insider’s Lute Olson weekly honor along with the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week.
Murray finished with 48 points in a 90-89 win at Temple. He was 20-for-28 from the field and also had 8 rebounds. Murray’s big night are the most points ever scored against the Temple Owls. His point total is also the most of any player in Division I this season.
Murray is currently averaging 24 points and seven rebounds per game. He has already been named Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Week three times this season.
Murray graduated from West Virginia in May, and was granted another year of eligibility before transferring to Texas Southern, where he is now enrolled in graduate studies.
