Graduate student defensive lineman Michael Badejo was named to the 2021 Preseason All-SWAC Second Team.
The Mansfield, Texas native ranked fourth on the team in tackles along with 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack during the abbreviated spring campaign. In the fall of 2019, the 6-2, 265-pound defensive end finished with 44 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
As a team, TSU was picked to finish sixth in the new look SWAC West, which added Alcorn State due to the addition of Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M to the SWAC East.
Head coach Clarence McKinney will be joined by Badejo and fellow grad student wide receiver Jonathan Giles as the trio will represent TSU in Birmingham. The trio will make their ESPN3 appearance live at 12:32 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
