Avent Named Preseason All-SWAC 1st Teamer

TSU redshirt junior guard Andriana Avent was named to the 2022-23 All-SWAC Preseason First Team.
 
A native of Sacramento, Calif., Avent turned into a scoring machine for TSU during her first season as she averaged 18.1 points in 23 games played. Avent scored in double figures in 20 consecutive games dating back to the non-conference finale at USC on Dec. 18, 2021. Avent had nine games with 20-plus points, including four with 30-plus including a season-high 35 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Jan. 8.
 
Under the direction of new head coach Vernette Skeete, the TSU women’s basketball team opens the 2022-23 season at UTA on Monday, Nov. 7 in Arlington, Texas.
