Alcantara Leads Women’s Golf After Day 1 Of Bearkat Women’s Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Texas Southern University women’s golf team returned to the links as senior Rev Alcantara leads the team after day one of the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Women’s Invitational.

Alcantara had a three-shot improvement in her second round after posting a final 8-over score of 80. Freshman, Lyla Vaugh had a strong finish to her first day of competition with an 8-shot improvement in her second round.
 
“The learning curve is significant at this point,” Texas Southern University head golf coach, Dr. Gary Grandison said. “There were teachable moments that will hopefully help us to progress.”

The Lady Tigers teed up for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for the final round of play in the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Women’s Invitational on Tuesday at Raven Nest Golf Club.
