35th Annual Labor Day Classic Week Kicks Off With Press Conference At BBVA Stadium Monday Afternoon

HOUSTON – The Texas Southern University Department of Athletics will host a press luncheon on Monday, Aug. 26 at 12 p.m. to promote the 35th annual On Site Counseling Labor Day Classic football game in the Audi Sport Club at BBVA Stadium in Downtown Houston.

First-year head coach Clarence McKinney and second-year Prairie View A&M head coach Eric Dooley will be in attendance along with Texas Southern Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kevin Granger and Prairie View A&M Interim Director of Athletics Alicia Pete

Houston native, WWE Hall of Famer and five-time World Champion Booker T will serve as the master of ceremonies. Booker T is the host of ESPN 97.5 FM’s The Hall of Fame which is aired Monday-Wednesday at 9 p.m. along with Brad Gilmore.

The 35th edition of the Labor Day Classic, which is sponsored by On Site Counseling, kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 at BBVA Stadium.  The classic makes a return to Labor Day Weekend for the first time since 2016.
